About these terms
Welcome to the website of Four Legs Good NY NJ Inc. (“Four Legs Good,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue based in Pomona, New York. By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to visitors, adoption applicants, volunteer applicants, donors, and anyone else interacting with our site or services.
What this site is
Our website provides information about our rescue operations, available animals, adoption process, volunteer opportunities, events, and ways to support our mission. The site is informational and operational, not transactional in the commercial sense — we are a nonprofit, not a retailer.
We do our best to keep information accurate and up to date, but we make no warranties that the site or its content will be error-free, complete, or continuously available. Animal listings, event details, and program information may change without notice.
Adoption applications
Submitting an adoption application does not guarantee that you will be approved to adopt, nor does it reserve a specific animal. All applications are reviewed by our staff and volunteers, and adoption decisions are made at our discretion based on the best interests of the animal.
We may decline any application for any lawful reason. We may withdraw an animal from availability at any time. Approved adoptions are finalized in person and may involve home visits, interviews, references, and an adoption agreement separate from these terms.
You agree that the information you provide on an adoption application is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Providing false information may result in denial of the application or, if an adoption has already taken place, may give us grounds to take further action under our adoption agreement.
Volunteer applications
Submitting a volunteer application does not guarantee placement as a volunteer. Volunteer roles are subject to availability, training requirements, and our assessment of fit. Volunteers may be required to sign additional agreements, complete training, or provide background information depending on the role.
Donations
Donations made through our site are processed by our payment provider, Zeffy. Donations to Four Legs Good NY NJ Inc. are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We will provide a receipt for tax purposes. Donations are non-refundable except as required by law or at our sole discretion (for example, in the case of a clear processing error).
Acceptable use
When you use our site, you agree not to:
- Submit false or misleading information on any form
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site, our servers, or any connected systems
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or harvest content from the site beyond what is permitted for standard search engine indexing
- Interfere with the site’s operation, including by submitting malicious code, excessive automated requests, or spam

We provide the site and its content on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
