"We had no idea what to do when we first discovered a mama cat and kittens under our porch. They would come right up to our screen door and sit nose to nose with our cat, Ferret, but we couldn’t get anywhere close to the kittens. Mama was protective and they were fast! Thankfully, we were referred to Four Legs Good.

Four Legs Good’s amazing team of rescuers trapped Mama, the babies, and even the dad! Mama and dad, who we now call Grayson (because he is gray and we aren’t very inventive), were spayed/neutered and returned to our back yard.

The four kittens were brought to Four Legs Good’s amazing foster families where they were given so much love and care. The kittens learned how it felt to be held, cuddled and kissed; they got to play with humans for the first time and even romp around with kittens from other litters. These families do such a wonderful job socializing kittens!

We couldn’t resist adopting two of the kittens (Max and Micah) and the other two were adopted together! I can’t imagine a better outcome for the kittens. Thanks to Four Legs Good, these sweet kitties get to live indoors.

Max and Micah have come so far from living the feral life. They cuddle and purr, sit on your lap (when they are in the mood because that’s a cat for you), they LOVE their big brother Ferret, and Max even learned to use the cat wheel!

Thank you Four Legs Good!!"

"We were feeding a feral cat for over two years that was trapped, neutered and returned, when a second cat joined her. This new cat seemed to be much more approachable than our feral cat and so I reached out to Four Legs Good NY/NJ for help. Diane suggested to feed this cat at the same time every day to get a closer look at her.

Soon enough the cat showed up every day and turned out to be very friendly and seemed to be a former house cat. Diane came to our house several times to evaluate the cat and to find the best solution for this sweet cat. In the end we trapped the cat and brought her to Hi-Tor.

I am very grateful to Four Legs Good for all their help and for all the good suggestions Diane made for this friendly cat and it was so obvious to me how much she cared about this cat. I would highly recommend her and Four Legs Good and I wish there would be more people out there like them who care so deeply about these poor cats.

Thank you so much!"

"Muchas gracias FOUR LEGS por toda la ayuda brindada con varios gatos que viven en mi yarda.

Esta es una de 14 gatos que ellos vacunaron y castraron sin ningún tipo de pago por ser gatos de la calle o gatos sin casa. Gracias mil por todo lo que hacen por ellos. Estuve buscando ayuda por mucho tiempo y gracias a Dios apareció FOUR LEGS.

God bless this group. You are the best. Thanks so much for all help to homeless cats. Especially thanks to Abby and her team.🐾🐾"

"My experience with Four Legs Good has been without exception very good. It all began about five cats and some years ago. The cats had found their way to my back yard and (yikes!, despite my cat-dander allergy) I fed them, cared for them and, I guess, soon fell in love with them; but against my nature and good sense, I didn’t want them to proliferate. Someone referred me to Four Legs Good for information and assistance. Four Legs, then based in Pearl River, helped me to trap them—I caught all but one—with the idea that I take them to a veterinarian in Monroe, NY.

So, I paid to have four cats spayed or neutered. That lone escapee, however, helped by an occasional wandering tom, quickly proved very fertile. Over recent years when I have found lost or abandoned kittens in my yard, HiTor has taken them into its care as soon as I appealed for assistance. Still, the horde grew.

This past summer, some of my neighbors—apparently having noticed beautiful, contented cats on my front porch, my lawn, and stairways, my settees and wall pediments—contacted South Nyack’s Four Legs Good to offer assistance. Four Legs Good indeed helped by trapping and arranging for spaying and neutering services before returning the beauties to my care here at home, all without ever asking for money in payment for their time and effort.

I still have six or seven cats remaining to be fixed and I hope Four Legs Good will be able to continue helping me and my feral family-felines."
